Disrupt NY 2K15: Engineering a Greater Good

As technology becomes progressively more ingrained into various aspects of our lives, a growing majority of people are familiar with the magical land known as “Silicon Valley.” Whether it is a reference to the popular HBO television show that portrays it as a Redbull-fueled haven for geeks and nerds alike, or stories of smart water bottles and 3D-printed organs, our society is mesmerized by the progress and innovation that Silicon Valley represents.

At the heart of this endeavor are dedicated, passionate groups of individuals striving to bring change and innovation to many aspects of our day-to-day routine, and part of what makes this possible are the many events that can catapult a seemingly unknown startup into the world of IPO’s and the pages of the WallStreet Journal.

One such event is TechCrunch Disrupt, where products like the well-known personal finance app Mint and the quintessential millennial messaging app, GroupMe, were first introduced. Events like these act as springboards for smart, young, talented individuals to gain the funding and notoriety they need to bring innovative solutions to the hands of every American.

So far this year, TechCrunch has featured many great ideas. One that stands out as particularly important and influential to people across the world is Liquidity. Liquidity was recognized as the winner of TechCrunch Disrupt NY 2015 Battlefield, and is now in a position to put their brilliant water filtration system in the hands of people across the world who do not have access to clean drinking water. Being able to take a humble dream that has the potential to change the world and turn it into a reality is what makes these events so important. Encouraging like-minded people to dream big and chase down funding, often sleeping very little and socializing even less, while they dedicate their lives to what they are truly passionate about inspires people across the world to believe in themselves and strive to better themselves and the world around them.

Continuing to push the envelope is a part of the culture here at MCG. With each new project and client comes the opportunity to grow and better ourselves. This is of particular importance in the digital space, where striving to keep ahead of the curve and up to date with trends and best practices ensures that each website or digital marketing strategy keeps our clients on the forefront of their industry.
