Lauren's Kids
Hope You Can Hold
Challenge
With one in three girls and one in five boys experiencing child sexual abuse before turning 18, Lauren’s Kids set out to transform silence into awareness and healing. For the 10th anniversary of its annual Walk in My Shoes—a monthlong, 20-city trek across Florida—the organization needed to reenergize public attention and national coverage around prevention and survivor support.
Insight
Lauren Book, a survivor and advocate, knew that awareness alone wasn’t enough. Survivors needed connection. A friendship bracelet exchange program was introduced, inviting Floridians to send bracelets of hope to be distributed along the walk, turning empathy into action and participation into healing.
A statewide movement powered by media and human connection
Moore and Lauren's Kids launched an aggressive media relations effort across Florida. The campaign included media research, targeted messaging, press materials, op-eds, and continuous event coverage—spanning early mornings, local stops, and live interviews across more than 25 cities.
Through thoughtful coordination and constant communication, coverage began before the first mile was walked. Each stop along the route became a platform for survivors to share their voices and for communities to unite in prevention.
