Justin Smith Art Director

When Justin was young, his mother asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up. His answer: “The guy who draws all the cartoons for Disney.” While Justin’s career took a different path, one thing remains the same; he’s still dreaming and having fun.

What Justin calls “playing around” in Photoshop translates into powerful design that drives results for clients. Today, he’s oversees all aspects of print creative and design development for MCG. (Shhh, don’t tell him he’s working).

A self-described “man of few words,” Justin prefers to let his art speak for him. His approach to design starts with research and collaboration. He is known for his attention to detail – he sees what everyone else overlooks. He reads everything he can to stay atop of trends and works to ensure that clients stand out from the competition.

Justin has won dozens of ADDY awards from the Greater Tallahassee Advertising Federation. Some of his notable campaigns have included CareerSource Florida, Georgia Pacific and the University of Florida Alumni Association. Recently, he oversaw creative for Table 23, a Southern porch, table and bar. The project included logo design, color schemes, menu design and original drawings that the client liked so much that they became part of the restaurant’s décor.

Justin studied Studio Art and Graphic Design at FSU, taking courses in everything from Figure Drawing to Advanced Digital Projects and 3D Design. In his last semester of college, he interned at MCG and was hired shortly after.

When he’s not creating beautiful designs, Justin enjoys spending time with his wife and son and playing the guitar.
